Review:

Warm fuzzy feelings are what I felt reading “A Season For Hope” by Tammy L Grace and I wanted to dive right into The Magic of the Season which is the second book of the series.

This book is a lovely story that takes place during the holidays and reminds us of the reason for the season. Taking care of one another and helping those in need is what the town of Silver Falls is all about. I want to move there because this is the kind of town I want to live in!

I will be thinking about this book and it’s characters as I prepare for the holidays this year.

This is the first book I have read by Tammy L. Grace and it certainly won’t be the last. I’m going to start The Magic of the Season right now! If you love a good Christmas story, this one is for you!

The best-selling author of A Season for Hope, the tale readers describe as the perfect Christmas story, delivers a touching sequel with the second in her Christmas in Silver Falls series in this new festive novella that pairs perfectly with a cup of cocoa in front of a blazing fire.

Review:

Ahhhhhh!! That was such a wonderful story. It was wholesome, full of values and an all around satisfying read. If you’ve read any of Tammy L Grace’s novels and enjoyed them, I guarantee you will enjoy this story just as much. If not, this would be a great start.

When I started The Magic of the Season, I was surprised because Madison was the character who started the story; and we hadn’t met her yet. I wanted to continue with Dottie, Grant, Drew, Hope and Jake! Boy, was I happy when I turned the page to chapter two and there was the Fisher family! I love this family, all their dogs and the town of Silver Falls.

Tammy did a great job developing her characters. You forget you’re reading a book because you’re immediately immersed in the town and all of the people.

I’m sad thinking I’ll have to wait a whole year for another installment of Christmas in Silver Falls.

These books would make great stocking stuffers for anyone who loves to read!

E58D8FAF-4736-4BAB-AAE1-261764AC2919Summary:

The Christmas spirit is overtaking Tradd Street with a vengeance in this festive new novel in the New York Timesbestselling series by Karen White.

Melanie Trenholm should be anticipating Christmas with nothing but joy–after all, it’s only the second Christmas she and her husband, Jack, will celebrate with their twin babies. But the ongoing excavation of the centuries-old cistern in the garden of her historic Tradd Street home has been a huge millstone, both financially and aesthetically. Local students are thrilled by the possibility of unearthing more Colonial-era artifacts at the cistern, but Melanie is concerned by the ghosts connected to the cistern that have suddenly invaded her life and her house–and at least one of them is definitely not filled with holiday cheer….

And these relics aren’t the only precious artifacts for which people are searching. A past adversary is convinced that there is a long-lost Revolutionary War treasure buried somewhere on the property that Melanie inherited–untold riches rumored to be brought over from France by the Marquis de Lafayette himself and intended to help the Colonial war effort. It’s a treasure literally fit for a king, and there have been whispers throughout history that many have already killed–and died–for it. And now someone will stop at nothing to possess it–even if it means destroying everything Melanie and Jack hold dear.

Review:

I love the Tradd Street Series by Karen White and this book was no exception.

This is a read you will need to pay a little more attention to if you expect to understand the ending; who the ghosts are, their relationship and what they are trying to accomplish. That is the main reason I gave “The Christmas Spirits on Tradd Street” four stars. I still loved the book and it’s characters.

I understand we can look forward to one more book in this series. I am not sure when the projected release date is but, I will be looking forward to it with mixed feelings because I would like the series to continue on for many more installments.

If you love Karen White and have read the Tradd Street series, you won’t want to miss this one. If you haven’t started this series, what are you waiting for?

#BookReview: The Briar and the Rose by Laura Mills-Alcott

THE BRIAR AND THE ROSE is Regency Era Historical Romance set in Ireland and London.

THE BRIAR…
One moment Raven is alone in the world and working as a maid in the gardens of a grand estate in Ireland; the next she finds herself handed the life of a lady by the dark and handsome Marquess of Castlereagh. Devan insists his intentions are honorable, and that he only wishes to help reunite her with her family. But Raven finds herself in a constant struggle to deny the smoldering attraction between them, and in her secret heart, wishes he wanted more.
THE ROSE…
Devan, Marquess of Castlereagh, is tormented by his past and determined to live out his days in quiet solitude at his Ireland estate. That is until Raven enters his life. With the face of an angel, the body of Aphrodite, and the tongue of a drunken Irishman, he’s never met any woman so infuriating… so seductive… so… his match.
THE LEGEND…
From historical Ireland and its mystical legends to the elegant ballrooms of Regency London, together Devan and Raven discover the truth of the past and a love so strong it cannot be denied.

Based loosely on the ballad “Barbara Allen”, and more specifically on Dolly Parton’s version of the ballad, THE BRIAR AND THE ROSE is set in Ireland and London.

Review:

I might be hooked! It has been several years since I read a historical romance and it might not be so long the next time. I loved the history behind this story. It is loosely based on the ballad of “Barbara Allen” and the old Irish folktale of “The Briar and the Rose”.

Right after I finished this book there was a documentary of country music and I was excited to hear them talking with Dolly Parton about Barbara Allen and the old Irish folktale. Have you ever had that happen to you? First, you were ignorant about something and then you hear it again within a short period of time. That was nice because now I knew something about The Briar and the Rose.
This book is definitely worth the time to read. You won’t be sorry! There is something for everyone. However you have to do it, go out and obtain a copy of The Briar and the Rose by Laura Mills-Alcott today.
I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Release Date: October 15th, 2019

A sweet holiday love story about the magic of synchronicity and fate set at a quaint Vermont inn during the week after Christmas.

Emma can’t believe her luck when she finds an open pawn shop on Christmas Eve in Manhattan. She’s there to sell the beautiful bracelet her ex-boyfriend gave her when a familiar looking watch catches her eye. It’s the same engraved watch she gave her college boyfriend, Fletcher, years ago. On a whim, she trades the bracelet for the watch and wonders at the timing.

Practical Emma thinks it’s just a coincidence, but her best friend Bronwyn believes it’s the magic of synchronicity that caused Emma to find the watch. Fletcher was the one that got away, and somehow Emma never quite moved on.

When Bronwyn finds out that Fletcher is in snowy Vermont at a romantic inn for the week, she can’t help but give synchronicity a push. She signs Emma up to help the inn keeper as the children’s activity coordinator. Emma agrees that a week filled with quaint shops and maple syrup would do her good… and maybe Fate really does have a Christmas gift in store for her. That is until she sees Fletcher with his daughter and fiance.

Suddenly, the fairytale trip seems doomed to fail… much like the innkeeper’s dwindling cashflow. It will take a miracle to save her heart and the inn. And that just might be what Fate has in mind.

Christmas in Vermont is a delightful and charming love story about the magic of second chances during the most festive time of year.

Review:

From the moment I picked up “Christmas in Vermont” I could not put it down. I had to know if it ended the way I had hoped it would.

Anita Hughes tells a story of the relationship between Emma and Fletcher.

Emma was a sweet character with a heart of gold. Fletcher was her ex-boyfriend from college, who was just as kind as she was.

When they cross paths again, what does destiny have in store for them?

I loved the characters and how their personalities were developed.

It’s a sweet holiday romance with an ending that might have even had me teary eyed.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Review:

“Magic of the Season” by Tammy L. Grace is a true romance that captured me from the beginning. Based in Silver Falls, this town is a great place with characters that will draw you in and make you not want to stop reading.
The first book in the Series, “A Season of Hope”, tells the beginning of the story and this is a continuance of this gorgeous town and it’s wonderful characters. I felt like I was there with them.
Sugar is a character that is easy to love and from her arrival I wondered about how the story would end. Would she see the “Magic of the Season” in Silver Falls?
Being a Christmas Novella, I found myself looking forward to the holiday coming up in a few months.
Smiling as I read, it did not disappoint and I would definitely recommend it.
